Course Syllabus |
- Understand the role and responsibilities of the first
aider
- Assessing the situation and acting safely, effectively and
promptly in an emergency
- Dealing with an unconscious casualty
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- Legislation COSHH Risk Assessment and safe systems of work
- Hydrofluoric Acid uses Hydrofluoric Acid exposure
- Treatment of Hydrofluoric Acid exposure
- Oxygen therapy

Assessment and
Qualifications |
Continuous assessment by the Trainer. Successful learners will
receive a certificate of attendance which is valid for one
year.

Other Relevant
Information |
It is beneficial for learners to hold at least basic training in
first aid prior to attending the course. The course can be extended
to 6 hours if basic first aid is also required.
Learners must be physically able to carry out procedures required
to meet Resuscitation Council UK assessment criteria. Learners are
recommended to attend a 3.5 hour course after the one year period
to keep skills up to date
Learners are recommended to keep skills up to date by attending a
refresher course.
