| First aid at work First Aiders who hold either a First
Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work
certification. |
| Course Syllabus |

This course is intended for individuals who hold a current
Emergency First Aid at Work or First Aid at Work Certificate and
wish to keep knowledge and skills up to date. This short
course helps refresh the key skills of the workplace first aider so
that they feel confident to deal with first aid emergencies should
they arise. The HSE strongly recommend that all first aid in
the workplace first aiders, complete annual refresher training
during the 3-year period of certification.
Course Content:
- Assessing the situation and acting safely,
effectively, and promptly in an emergency
- Management of an unconscious casualty (including
seizure)
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) including
AED.
- Choking
- Wounds and bleeding
- Shock

An annual refresher certificate will be awarded at the end of
the e-learning session.

Information |
|
Delegates should be physically able to carry out procedures
required including floor work where kneeling and bending is
involved.
Please note, for practical sessions learners and the trainer
require to be in close contact with each other when demonstrating
and practicing first aid techniques.
