Who Should Attend |
Anyone who is already a trainer, facilitator or teacher, this
qualification will provide you with the necessary qualification,
skills and knowledge to help support learners. This nationally
recognized award through the awarding body Edexcel impacts on
Trainers delivering a higher standard of quality training in the
learning environment Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning
Sector or PTLLS is a teaching qualification available in the UK. It
is first stage of PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) in
Lifelong Learning and is required to gain QTLS (Qualified Teacher,
Learning & Skills) Status. It is a requirement that all
teachers obtain PTLLS or equivalent if you wish to teach in the
Further Education Sector in the UK . |
Course Syllabus |
- Adopt an integrative approach to the theory and practice of
teaching and training
- Reflect on their own previous/current levels of experience,
practice and skills, and potential for development.
- Build up knowledge of principles of learning, teaching,
assessment and evaluation Develop their own communication and
interpersonal skills.
- Develop an awareness of their professional role, the essential
value systems which underpin it and the legal requirements for
carrying out that role.

Assessment and
Qualifications |
30 minute micro-teaching session is delivered in front of peers and
portfolio evidence is verified by an Internal Verifier. Successful
learners will receive an Edexcel nationally recognised
qualification.

Information |
There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification.
However, there is a considerable amount of written work to be
completed during and after the course has finished. Assignments
must be completed and submitted for marking within given
deadlines.
This will involve reading reference books, researching specific
topics, applying theory to practical scenarios and demonstrating
knowledge and understanding through written work. Candidates for
this course should have a good standard of written and verbal
communications skills.
